Rugby is fast catching onto the suitability
of artificial grass surfaces and part of our
research and development process for our
unique base system made sure that it passed
the IRB standards (see our technical
section).
Artificial Grass made its debut at
Twickenham Stadium in 2003 when England
played the All Blacks. A third generation
sand and rubber crumb in-filled artificial
grass carpet formed a special warm up area
which runs the length of the rugby pitch in
front of the west stand.
As with all of our installations only the
very best artificial grass that has passed
the relevant sporting bodies specifications
is used and of course our unique Sportslawn
base system has also been independently
tested and has passed the IRB specifications
(see our technical section).
Artificial grass rugby pitches and practise
areas provide a perfect environment for
training and coaching scrums and line outs
and of course are able to provide an
all-year round facility.
Sportslawn offers a multitude of options for
artificial grass rugby pitches from very
small practise areas, through rugby biased
(but multi sport capable) MUGA's (Multi Use
Games Areas) to full size dedicated rugby
pitches.
International Rugby Board (IRB) approved TT
